After I unload a few plants in my tank I will be making some changes. I've been talkling about it for ages, but with the chance to give some of my plants away, I will be left with a big 'hole' in my tank. I'm going to take that day and re-arrange everything to acheive the sloping effect that I want.

What I'm thinking is a patch of my val behind my twisty piece of wood, the wood covered in moss. In front of that, a big patch of my Crypt. Undulata. Some of my hyrdo. verticulata around that. One of my Lillies out in the middle of nowhere. I would actually really like to get a big bush of Rotala happening. Maybe peeking out around my wood as well.

Here's a 'drawing' of what I'm thinking. I don't know what I would want over on the right side of the tank. maybe some moss covered rocks piling up to break up the flatness of it.

Comments? Thoughts?

Looks good Jen :good:

I would maybe try and grow some of your Valis through your twisty bog wood to give it a sense of age, you know grass growing round and through old fallen trees.

To the right maybe concentrate on piling up some rocks and covering them in moss, over time the moss will ungulate down to wards ( what I'm guessing is) Hydroctyle sp.

The val would grow amongst the wood... It's just hard to draw that in paint.

And great idea with the moss/rocks. I was thinking of piling it... but hadn't thought of having it creep over the sand. Something to think about for sure.

Any other suggestions?

Nice to see another potentially great layout. If your tank is 48x24H then it should suit a triangular layout nicely.

Could be a very nice alternative from the previous jungle Jen. Good luck.

Thanks George. My tank are those exact dimensions. Is that what I've gone for there? A triangular layout? I'm not really familiar with all the terms... I just go for what appeals to me. I'll have to do a bit of research. I'm also thinking of some different fish. I've got lots of room in the tank fishwise, and with all the swimming room that will create, I think I would like to try some Rainbow Fish. My fish store has some beauties in right now.
