one thing i have noticed tho is my plants are growing like crazy
im also wondering if the apple snails im getting tomorrow would be greatly effected by this water i plan on doing another 50% change tomorrow
help help help

First of all, you need to get your nitrIte level down (no2) as that is highly toxic to fish, which is likely the reason you are having trouble. Your nitrate is also very high. Begin doing daily water changes of 25% to bring those levels down. Whatever you do, do not change anything in your filter or rinse it out in tap water at this point.

As for the new apple snail, can you wait off on bringing him home? You filter is not keeping up wiht the waste your fish are producing. Don't do a 50% water change, as that will be even more stressful for the fish than the bad water they are in. If you want to move things along more quickly, do two changes a day, one in the morning, one at night, no more than 25% each time.

your plants are probably thriving because they can use the nitrate as a source of food, which you've definately have plenty of right now.

If you have positive nitrites, either your tank is not cycled or you are heavily overfeeding your tank to the point where the biologic filter is overwhelmed and nitrite is being formed faster than breakdown. Agree with above..nitrite is toxic. You didn't mention your ammonia level???? SH

Is the white thing hanging out of the molly's anus (internal parasites) or off its body (anchor worm) or is it more like cotton wool/fluffy stuff on its body (fungus)? Internal parasites and fungus can be treated with medicine from the lfs, anchor worms need to be removed by tweezers: Get everything set out first, then net molly and hold it in wet towel (somewhere safe), remove worm working QUICKLY, put molly back in water, treat with melafix against infection.
