Hi Guys,

Ive decided to give online ordering a try using Tri Mar after a few of the guys in here reccomended it to me as I couldnt get Gold Severums Locally

They come tommorrow...

Had a good chat with the bloke on the phone and am very optomisti they will arrive safe and sound..

I believe I just acclimatise them as normal b4 I let them into the tank..But what im not sure about is how to get them into my tank as the bloke said to dump the water they come in and dont put it im my tank?

So how do i do this? normally in the past ive just added the water the fish come in to save trying to net them in a small bag that I struggle to get a net into generally?

They may come in big wide topped bags when they come from online do they?

Suggestions are welcome?

I wondered if I floated them for a while them realsease them into a bucket of tank water and net them from there as id have more space?

Also when these guys come they will be young severums ... will they just hide away or could they be full of beans...prefumably I just keep my lights off all day tommorrow?

Thanks in advance for any comments.. :good:

See the section on "Unpacking" in Matt Clarke's article.

Some tips there :)

Let us know how you get on :good:

Thanks I just read that..
I may try adding tank water to the bags and net them from there to the tank after a while of acclimitising then...
I was wary to try this online ordering but if our suppliers get them over from singapore this way then surly a wee run up to scotland wont be too stressfull for them eh? Its just the point you dont see them b4 you buy them but Tri Mar seems to have a very good reputation.

I cant wait..
Thanks again

i find it easiest to empty fish and water into a bucket and gradually add the tank water to the bucket and empty some out with a jug then when acclimatised net them and put in tank, then no water gets in tank.

Thats what i do, I empty the fish and water into a clean bucket i bought solely for tank water then add tank water every 10 minutes. Within 30 minutes your good to add them to the tank. :good:

Brilliant.. thanks for all your replies.. :good:

Well they are here....
Arrived at 9am

They look in great shape and only one hide for a short time after being added to the tank..All 3 are roaming the tank and have a bit of confidence about them..

The keyholes seem to want to hang out with them
Here are a couple of pics to show you all and if this is typical or tri mar then top marks for them cause im over the moon...

My LFS has green severums not even half the size of these and they want £6 each and tri mar took £3.99 each so with the £10 postage it was only coppers dearer and I got what I wanted and not what the shop wanted to sell me!! Whoo Hoo..

I kept severums a long time back and had great success with them and they were mainly peacable for the main part till they spawned but even then they were not savege so wanted to get them again...

I see a few varaitys of the severum around now and am not sure if they are dyed or what but some look awsome with a spalsh of colour too..

Fingers crossed they get on ok with us but from fist signs it looks good.
