Magic Jet 380

I was thinking about getting a magi-jet 700 for my 30 gallon. I have used smaller ones and they work well. Filtering chemically, biologically and mechanically. They are really cheap and efficient. IF possible try on ebay where you can pick then up really cheaply new. I can get the 700 for only £13. It would also be good to here some more experienced opinions. I know I should get an external but they are really expensive and I can easily switch over once I have saved up.

my brother has got the magi-jet 1000 has he hasnt had any problems with it apart from that he thought the current was to strong for his tank, but he sorted that by positioning it differently,

thanks

I bought one of the little magic-jet 200 for my fry tank and its fine.Got it cheaply off e-bay like shrimply

I have two of them, the 1000 is in my four foot tank but its only a pump really and the media is really small so would need cleaning out often. I use it to help my juwel keep the water circulating as the pump is very good. It does make a bit of noise though and fish that like slower water might not like it but you get different attachments so it can come through a spray bar which softens the force and then theres one that you can diffuse bubbles through.
My other one is the smallest and is on the 4 gallon and is great there as the amount of media is ok for the size of tank.
Ive had mine several months now and they are absolute bargains for what they do. i would recommend them to anyone who has a juwel to keep the water flowing round the tank but not as a stand alone filter to bigger tanks.
