M/f Ratio For Platies

I'm looking to get some platties, but online, and they dont specify whether they are male or female. So I could end up with 2 males and one female.

Are platties like guppies where it needs to be at least 2 females to a male, or will I be okay with a mix? I was looking to get 3, but can go higher or lower if that would be better for the fish.

in my tank i have 2 females for every male that way the females dont get stressed out being bothered by the males.

I try to stick to 1 male for every 3 females, bit a 1:2 ratio is fine.

If you only keep your fish in small numbers, it is best to get a two or three to one ratio. If you keep large colonies of fish, it matters far less.
