Hi, I posted in the summer about my red tail black shark having a lump and was advised to try Anti Internal Bacteria medicine. I dosed the tank twice with this, but it had no visible effect at all on the lump. After that I just let things be as the shark didn't (and still doesn't) appear to be in any significant distress and behaves pretty much as before, other then spending more time than usual lying on the bottom, usually leaning towards one side.

However, the lump has grown larger and larger over the last few months and today I've noticed a white spot on it (pictures attached). To me it looks like it might actually be about to burst. Apart from any suffering the shark might endure I'm also becoming worried for the well-being of my other fish, as I guess there is a possibility of this lump rupturing and releasing bacteria into the water. Unfortunately, I have no way of isolating the fish.

Any thoughts? What should I do?

Best to issolate fish with lumps, as same as you say they can infect the tank if they burst.

The only other thing to try is antibiotics. But only available throw a vet in the uk.
Antibiotics are best used in issolation as they wipe the beneifical bacteria out in the filter.

Thanks for the reply, but I've got no way of isolating him. I really don't want the whole tank infected...any other options?

Just keep preforming water changes.

Try some myxazin by waterlife.
