Browsing through Freecycle i saw that someone was offering a 64L fishpod with ALL accessories (filter, ornaments, treatments, heater, lights, bogwood, manuals, test kits)! It came with an Interpet power filter and a brilliant heater, all for free. The whole lot must've cost around £300. It's sitting in the kitchen cycling right now

I just wanted to share the joy and thank all the amazing people out there who've made fish so much happier

I love freecycle, had a few tanks and equips from there now, and I use them all.

I went to a shop in Cadnam to find some fish to hopefully school with my Opsarius and came home with some Lionheads too (no easy to source on southern coast at the mo)!

new next door neighbour gave me a fluval roma 200 litre with heater air pump, aqua one 1050 filter. loads of rocks aquarium sand and the following fished:
1 large chocolate cichlid
1 redtail botia
3 pictus catfish
2 bolivian rams
2 corydoras swartzi (lovely fish)
2 small angelfish
2 gold gourami
1 male paradise fish
1 keyhole ciochlid
1 polka dot loach

not bad eh

I once found a 2ft ex-reptile tank in a guys skip few doors down from me, so i took it =) I had no use for it so i sold it to a guy few months later who asked me to sell it to him for £30 so he could convert to a sump for his marine - i happily obliged =)

Unfortunately things i actually require/use i have to buy myself ha =D I'm not that lucky yet, neither are 99.9% of people i suppose =P

Bought a 90ltr tank for £50 on ebay - sold it 6 months later for £80 and then won an almost brand new rio 180 for £35 on ebay with everything but fish and water.

Yeah, here in the US we can't sell anything that breathes or swims on eBay. I got my 75 gallon tank at a garage sale (with cabinet) for $30.

I've bought most of my tanks on ebay. It's brilliant for finding decent second-hand tanks, especially larger ones that cost more than a pretty penny new from the shops.
Can I ask for some extra luck in a non-fishy way for the next 3 weeks? Desperately need to write 3 assignments and am not getting anywhere.

Only problem is that fish lovers seem to be few and far between ere up north so you have to really be lucky and drop on things or sit waiting for a long time. Luckily I was the first option.

Struggling to find a decent large tank on there at the minute though without having to travel a good few hours. 'Rust' on here is on my doorstep with a tank that I would love but his is a bit more than I want to spend

An you have that much luck up north still. I'm quite central in the West Midlands and i struggle to find bargain tanks on eBay!

i was also offered a 60cm (100L i think) fully set up aquarium on freecycle, sadly i didn't have the space at the time but it came with fros, snails and fish. Freecycle is amazing!

Probably more "its a small world" than luck as such, but what if I tell you that I now have "Nelly"'s old 5x2x2 tank and matching stand in my garage as the tank for my setup when they get bigger!

You may remember pics of it from several months ago, showing his Pacu-esque mature Silver Dollar and Bala Sharks.

I can report that Nelly's Oscars are looking great in their new 5-footer and the new owner of them will be moving them to a 6-footer, once he has sold his two lovely species of Piranha, so they have a tank to themselves to safely make baby Oscars in!

two big Eheim pro 2 for £20 in gumtree. one of the is wet and dry,

ad reads ''water machine for sale'' and there was pic..

when i went there to pickup.. ther was all sorts of stuffs i got it for free. like rena 400 air pump/ rena smart heaters/ she just tell me to take it.




i laughed all the way to home.
