I am really bad at ID's. but I would think they are in the schwartzi/pulcher group.

This is one of mine. I have 2 more with darker coloring. The ID I got on mine was c. delphax. You can google them and see if they look like what you have. They look similar to me, but I am not good at telling the different kinds apart.
I hope this helps some. :good:

So is the delphax not part of the general pulcher/schwartzi group like the elegans group? I know that some of my puchers and schwartzi are debated some. Mostly it is all I can do to generalize. My super schwartzi and pulcher variants are very simular. And one expert will tell me that a fish is in such and such a group, but will soon be put in another group. We had a discussion once because several of us had very similar fish, and it got very confusing--like the discussion CoryDad and I had with Frank and others over the fish in the elegans group, such as bilineatus, elegans and napeonsis.

I have no idea. That is why I put a pic with the ID I was given... then said google.
The only thing I can do is say they look similar to what I have. I have no idea if they actually are or not.
I don't know which kinds are grouped together. Is there a list somewhere that lists which ones are closely related? (or of the same group...)
I have had to post to get an ID on all of mine so far. I couldn't tell for sure on any of them at first. I am getting better, but not nearly good enough...
Maybe someone that knows will come along soon and tell us.

Thanks guys, So Glad i got these, they really suit the scape and love digging in the sand.

now just waiting for the Pygmies to arrive in to the Stores.

I didn't know about the confines of the groups, except the elegans group. Yeah they do share similarities with the pulchers and schwartzis like many of the barred and blotched cories I guess they are in a group, maybe someone would care to create a new thread where we can discuss it further and get the input of frank and ian and other knowledgable, the more we learn the stronger we become :D

So what are you waiting for? If you start the thread I will make the invitations--unless you want to?

The battle to ID my San Juans, and I was told that they could not give a positive ID and my guess was as good as another, showed me that there are some species so close that the characteristics overlap, making id's difficult if not impossible.

I will see if i can dig up the thread on the pulchers and schwatzi to attach to your new thread to be, Khuni. You are the one who introduced me to the idea with your comment about the elegans groups before, after all. :p

How are these new guys doing Gill?

They are doing great, swimming around in a Group.
they really enjoy the sand and dig around in it all the time.
Added some more carpeting plants and they are looking great.
