Love Rams But Am Put Off By Pairing

i love rams colouring and heard they are peaceful
but you have to find a breeding pair
i have 2 angels at the moment and getting 2 more to make it easy to find one
do i do the same with rams as in get 4 and wait for a pair or is it diffferent
also i can never find more than 1 or 2 small rams in lfs which are very dull in colouring
do i just get 1 and then wait and find another or do i have to get them at the same time
i assume the colouring brightens as they get older and are healthy

so far i had a breeding pair one of them died i bought 3 more so i had 2 of each. and they both paired off and are laying eggs every 12 days! so you should be able to get one at a time and still get some breeding pairs.

i'm assuming your putting these in the 75? you should be able to support atleast 2 breeding pairs i have 2 pair in my 55 gal. and they are doing great.

as for color, they will color up when settled in your tank and establish territory. my females get chased away for a bit after breeding and lose all color, but after a few days brighten up considerably. their color also gets better with good food and good water.

what are your water quality numbers? (amo, Nitri, NitrA, hardness, pH) just curious
