Ok, I actually don't have any yet. However, I love the looks of all these! I've bred guppies and platys before in my 20 gallon, but none survived. I now think I am ready to try again, this time with a 55 gallon. So the tank would consist mainly of those stated above, but with some minnows and other community fish, just with the livebearers being the showcase and focal point. However, I was wondering this: If I were to ry and breed these fish, would I have to worry about inbreeding and such? LIke, if a guppy had about 30 fry, and half lived, would I need to worry about seperating sexes, or could I just let all of them live in the same tank, and then perhaps catch a few fry and put them in the fry net? Also, if inbreeding is a problem, could I introduce new blood in by buying another two females and another male? If I shall need to worry about inbreeding, perhaps I'll stick to all male population, as right now I only have one tank. Any input is appreciated!

Every few months i would add some new females/males from a diff store, so theya retn from the same supplier, cuz their strains can get weaker after a while.

You mean that "strains" get weaker, you mean that the colors will generally decline and fade after a while, because of inbreeding? But new bloodlines will prevent that?

The colors will eventually fade, but when inbreeding occurs, the babies are prone to sickness( inbreeding has to occur many times for this), loss of color, require better water, deformaties, adn have a shorter lifespan. So, yes in essence, new bloodlines will prevent all that.
