Going to keep on top of the plants, bought some plant feed that you put in once a week when you do a water change, and have also heard of some sort of pellets that you put into your substrate??Can anyone give me anymore info on the pellets, and also what else to do to help the plants flourish??

Oh and something i forgot to ask-Can anyone id the fine grass like plant i have, you can see it in the left hand side picture, i really like it and want to order some more!!

All comments/opinions welcome :good:

nice tank. personally i would get more plants and possibly a co2 system

I've been thinking of getting more plants, thats why i was asking if anyone could id the grass like plant on the left hand side of my tank.

Co2 system??That sounds expensive!!

Pics dont do it justice mate ^^ Looks much better in person and the yellow/green grass type plant is stunning... Need some for my tank soon :p

Think you meant to say "Pics don't do it justice" LOL :p

I really like the grass like plant, can anyone id this for me pleaseeeee?????

Jacko-i may look into a CO2 system when i get more plants for my tank, and when i have read up on it a bit more. I've read up on CO2 systems vaguely but need to see if it would be worth my while.

Would you be able to tell me some rough prices for a small CO2 system??

Cheers ;)

I like it, one small suggestions, i think a darker background (black is popular) may give a better contrast and really show up your fish and decor :)

I may look into getting a darker background when i buy some more plants. The background i have atm is better than what it was, it's a reversible one so when i changed my gravel to sand i turned it round.

Still not 100% about it though, so may see what a darker one looks like, i suppose it will make for a better contrast in colours.

Free, or very cheap. You can make one out of some silicon tubing, a pop bottle and air stone.

If not, a simple sugar/yeast C02 system will cost anywhere from 25-50 USD. Pressurized C02 you are probably looking at 150+.

Care to elaborate :hyper:

I wouldnt think you really need co2, not without high lighting anyway :) keep it as simple as for now if i were you.

I've been reading up on better lighting systems, all i want is for my plants to thrive in my tank!!

Going to order some more soon and i don't want them to die,any suggestions people on easy ways to maintain a healthy planted tank??

Nutrient rich substrate, medium lighting and a little liquid food when needed :)
