one of my favorite fish my blue acara died last night of what i believe to be gill flukes. i'm currently treating the tank and in a few weeks or so i will think about replacing him. i'm not sure if i should get another acara or not. i do love blue acara's but its just like i would feel like i'm replacing him too much. i was thinking along the lines of a sajica, or something else.

my tank is 100gallons. and i'm looking for cichlid that will get on well with other cihclids eg, geophagus and ellioti. also a nice center piece.

sorry for your loss. I get really attached to my fish too.

has anyone got any experience with Nicaragua Cichlids, i saw them and they look really nice the only thing that worries me is the size? i have a juwel rio 400 which is 5feet is this big enough?

yes a 400Litre would be fine for a single Nic, and there is a very good chance that it will get on well with a Geophagus and Ellioti.
IME Nics are quite the gentle giant, (although I know Minx found her female to be quite aggressive)

I keep mine with a Severum, JD, Ellioti, Sajica and Geo surinamensis with no problems at all,

Size wise i would be looking at around 8" for a Male
