Hi

Im pretty new to all this fish business, i had 3 neons which had fin rott and treated tank but didnt go. They seemed fine in themselves and then all 3 died yesterday. I find this wierd that they die all together.

I then noticed that all my fish were at the surface of the tank and seemed bit stressed. It seemed as if they didnt have enough oxygen in the water. I decided to change some of the water to try and oxygenate the water and suddenly they seemed fine. Would it be that the water didnt have enough oxygen?

Want to mention too that I bought 2 danios saturday and one seemed stressed and died sunday.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Becky

When you use meds you have to increase aeration in the tank, as meds take 02 out of the water.

Pump with an airstone added, or with some filters you can turn water flow up.

Ok, I have decreased the level of the water so more bubbles are going in, will this help?

Would the neons have died of lack of oxygen?

Yes plus neons are sensitive to some meds.

Can you also test water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

are the water stats ok was the tank fully cycled

I've checked the water and its fine.

Fish seem lot happier now but worried they will suddenly go down hill again!!

I couldn't get to sleep last night though worry :(

I no not nice, if water quality is fine i would say with having the med in the tank there wasnt enough aeration in the tank, good luck.

as stated above neons are very sensitive i started wiv 9 3 weeks ago and now im down to five there all settled dont lose sleep over neons!

Thanks for the help, feel bad keeping fish and not knowing how to help if the tank goes down hill! Supoose it down to experience!

If i can get there so can you, just takes time and patience and alot of learning.
