Hi,

I fed my fish this morning and noticed the strange behaviour of my last female fighter. She kept struggling to move from the bottle of the tank and needed to 'rest' quite often. After inspection it looks like one of her pectoral?? fins are missing. is she a lost cause or will it grow back?

If she is destined to die can I help the suffering and if so what is the most humane way of doing it!

Please help

Sorry to hear about your Betta losing a fin. I'm not sure if it will grow back. I hope it won't come to it, but the best way to put an end to a fishes misery is to put some tank water in a container, add a few drops of clove oil (from the chemist, sold as a tooth ache remedy), then add your fish. It will succumb very quickly, without flapping about. As I said though, I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that. Good luck.

one of my females has only one pectoral fin, she is very healthy otherwise just a little slower than the other 3, but still the boss  is she in her own tank? maybe get her one if not annd keep the water level lower till she gets used to it :good:

I'm sure she'll be okay; she probably will just not swim as fast as the others. ;)
Just lower her water level a bit to help her out. :D

It's OK everyone, she must've just been having an off day this morning, i've checked her properly just now and all fins are there and intact. Panick over!

Please help with my other problem listed under the 'Emergency' section though.
xx
