a few of my guppies seem to be losing there tails and i dont understand why due to i have no semi aggressive fish in there..if there is a medical problem with them what treatment can i buy ??

thankyou

beside what fish do you have, how long has the tank been set up for and how often do you clean it, ie: water changes, gravel cleans and filter maintenance? Also have you checked the water quality for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate & PH. Guppies also need some minerals in the water so a general hardness (GH) test might be advisable too.

bacteria will sometimes cause the tails to rot away (fin rot). But the bacteria is usually secondary and gets into the tissue after the fish has been damaged by poor water quality or some other stress factor.
