I have 8 L.brevispinis catfish in my 30 gallon at the moment, but am wanting to get some fish for it that will fill out the tank a bit more as the cats hide for the most part.
I'm open to all suggestions really, schooling, centerpiece, cichlids etc.. BUT the only thing is that it will need to be at least bigger then Flordia flagfish. I mention this because I adopted three flagfish from a friend and placed them in the 30g, but over a period of a month I found each stuck to the filter all tore up as such. I am assuming one of the bigger males ended up taking it during the night, because they all seemed fine and healthy with no signs of illness during that time.

Thank you for the suggestions.

If I may, if you ever come across a African knife (Brown specifically) they are wonderful additions, they are hardy, intelligent, and will live just fine in a 30g, the one I had used to like to be pet, literally. And he only ate out of my hand, it was a ton of fun. That or maybe a gourami?
