Hi there,

I need some help and expertise regaring whatever it is that is killing all my fish.
I bought 4 new fish last Saturday and almost immediately my fish started to die.
The was no disease indication or any other changes that i introduced to the fish tank.
I tried testing and changing water, administering some medicine but i lost about 40 fish by now.
The strange thing is that the babies (who are in the same tank) don't seem to be affected at all.
There is no obvious pattern to this all but i have notice on only two fish that they had swalled eyes (not quite like pop eye) and dark heads as if blood collected underneath.

Has anyone come accross anything like it?
Would appreciate any comments.

Many thanks

K

Hi
in order to help we really need more info:

what tank size do you have?
what fish?
how long has it been running?
water parameters? temp, ph, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia,

The dark heads is often associated with chemical poisoning. The blackening being caused by blood and is similar to bruising. As a general rule tho poor water quality is the biggest killer and will often kill new fish while leaving the original inhabitants unaffected. This is because they original fishes are in the tank while the water quality deteriorates. Whereas the new fishes come from clean water and then are introduced into the below average water thus causing severe stress and potential death.
If you can provide a bit more info as requested by Davo and also include what you have used to treat the fish and what fishes you have had and lost. Also how often do you do water changes, how much water do you change, and how do you add the new water?

Deleted.........was in a bad mood
