Fishaholic
Well ive been fish in cycling for over a month and a half, that included a change to a 4ft tank and to an external all pond solutions 1000LPH filter (i put my old media inside the external)and ive been testing the water daily, todays results were ammonia 4.0, nitrite 5.0 and nitrates 80ppm. I know this is terrible and lethal to my fish, water changes are being made. What I dont understand is how my fish are able to survive in this poisoned water and what the hell is going on with my cycle. During the first cycle I was using dechlorinator (sodium thiosulphate) which I found out wasnt killing the chloramines so i used seachem prime for a bit. Then I changed tanks and im now using API water conditioner whenever I do a change. My stock is 2 dwarf cichlid, 2 dwarf gourami, 1 neon tetra and 6 columbian tetra.
Apologies to the people that have helped me regarding this before, I know its like a broken record but this is seriously driving me mad!
