Looking To Re Stock My Tank

Have a look at my stock list in my signature/profile for my 50g. OK, it's a 190L not a 180L, but not a whole lotta difference. Ignore the Geo (he will be going in my large tank eventually) as Wills said they will need a bigger tank long term.

I really, really recommend Praecox Rainbowfish, they are fantastic. I have 12 in my tank and they add such colour and activity to it. They also encourage the shyer dwarf cichlids out and make them more confident.

How about a school of the Rainbows (can't have any larger Bows in a 3ft tank, but could go for the smaller Rainbows like Threadfin or Blue Eyes instead), a couple of Bolivian Rams and some bottom feeders like a small Plec, Corydoras, Khuli loaches.

Or you could get a pair of mid-size cichlids, with some dithers?

can u give me an exact stock list of ur 50g tank including quantities?

would that be ok in my tank - the geophagus?

could i use ur stock list without the geo?

Yep, reckon that would be fine :good:

I started with 6 Rainbows, but since I upped their numbers they have gotten a lot more confident. Up to you how many you have (within reason) but a bare minimum of 6. I have a mix of males and females. They are easy to sex, the males have red fins and the females have yellow. Try to get at least one female per male, otherwise the males will fight. Mine show off to each other to attract the female's attention

Here is a rough list of possibilities I came up with for my 120l ...
Dwarf Flag Cichlid - Laetacara curviceps
Sajica/T-Bar Cichlid - Archocentrus sajica
Rainbow Cichlid - Herotilapia multispinosa
Keyhole Cichlid - Cleithracara maronii
Seven-Stripe Cichlid - Archocentrus septemfasciatus
Cutter's Cichlid - Archocentrus sp. 'cutteri'
Rio Miua Apisto - Apistogramma sp. 'Miua'
Honduran Red Point - Cryptoheros sp. 'honduran red point'
Nijsseni's Dwarf Cichlid - Apistogramma nijsseni

(copys list, keeps for later use....)

what could i lose in exchange for more Apistogramma agassizii?

I'd loose the Keyhole. Mine is a wally, to be fair. He was a rescue fish though, and love him in his own way, but I think the Apistos have more character.

You could have a trio (2f, 1m) of Apistogramma :)
