Hey fellow fish lovers, I need some of your brilliant minds to help me out...
I have a 120g, 6x2x2, semi-planted tank that is currently home to 1 Albino Oscar (Odin, about 7-8 inches)
1 Jack Dempsey (Thor, about 4 inches) and 1 catfish (about 4-5 inches, not sure of specific breed, looks like a regular catfish)
I am looking to add a couple more fish to the tank that are compatible with each other. The tank has been running for almost a year now, we started out with 2 Oscars and 1 pleco. After about 6 months, the smaller Oscar began bullying the bigger one, finally one day he took a chunk out of Odin's head so we took him back and traded for the JD. (We also traded the pleco for the catfish as he had gotten lazy and did not plec at all!) We did the whole rearranging the tank, and added the newbies. It took about 2 days for Odin to accept Thor and now they all get along great.
I have researched online and gotten some conflicting info, so I am turning to the real experts (you guys!) for some advice or previous experiences. I would like something colorful if possible, nothing that needs a school, so no Silver Dollars. My LFS can order just about anything (and get bigger sizes of fish) and will also take fish back if there are problems. Any ideas on 1-2 fish I could add?

we have a parrot fish with our oscar and they get on great. no conficts at all.

only other thing i would suggest off the top of my head is a JD and you already have one

I would agree... besides schooling fish, ie. bala's, tin foils, silver dollars... i wouldn't recommend too much else. Oscars are territorial and I know my Jack can be a little bastard if he doesn't get all the space he wants. You can try other cichlids and it might work.. atleast for awhile anyways, so always be prepared to rehome or put a divider in the tank if need be. Some things work by chance and some thing just plain don't so just experiment and see what happens :good:

A convict should be fine, as should a firemouth. A severum might also be alright, if he doesn't pick on your oscar.

severums are great to have with oscars, but as Mako Man111 said if they dont pick on your oscar but if anything the oscar will prob pick on it, its hard introducing new fish to a tank with cichlids because they are teritorial and its thier tank. Schooling fish are great, taking into account that the schooling fish need to grow big or they'll be lunch, so plenty of space is required keeping in mind 55g is the limited for just 1 oscar.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I really appreciate it. I am thinking of going with either a parrot or a convict. As I said before I do have the option of returning it if things do not work out. I do not want to overcrowd my tank so 4 fish in a 120 gallon would give them all plenty of space. You guys are the best! :D
