Hey, basically i'm looking for what is effectively a short growing plant;

3-4 inches growth height maximum.

I'm planning on planting the floor area of my tank sparingly to give more of a natural look. Preferably something with small leaves. This is purely for aesthetics.

It's probably asking a lot, but I know little about plants.

the plant that jumps out at me as an easy care plant is Cryptocoryne Parva. It just depend on what you want though, if you want a carpet effect, i would probably think about Riccia. Parva tends to stay small, but has leaves.

Not going for a carpet effect.. more a spattering of light foliage.

Got plenty of light, not really using ferts or Co2. Tank is being surprisingly resilient without it. But water sprite is crazy good like that.

I do use whats merely labeled as "aquatic plant food".

The crypto looks alright. Would prefer more of a stork shaped plant I think, but thats not truly nescessary, i'm just a fussy #28###.

Been doing some googling. I'm not sure such a plant exists. :(

How about Echinodorus tenellus? It's basically a grassy type plant and can be trimmed if you like. You can plant it in lttle groups or make a lawn if you so desire. Stem plants will always be taller, it's in their nature to go for the light.
