It's an Amazon Sword (bet you knew that!). The brown patch on the leave started really small at the tip and now it's spreading. What should I do?

Leave it and see what happens - thats what i was doing and it's getting worse.
Cut or remove the leaf - how should I go about that? Cut off the brown area or completely remove the leaf?

Thanks.

do you dose co2 or ferts? remove the left, snap it away from the stem (at the bottom where all the leaves join) try to get a clean snap as low as possible, otherwise the plant will spend its energy trying to fight the brown rather than growing.

nope. no CO2 or ferts. very new to the plants. I think I'll try adding some ferts if you think that'll help.

I've got some Flourish so I will try adding that. It's a shrimp tank, will Flourish be okay?

Swords are heavy root feeders, the best thing to add is a fert tab near the roots.

I noticed you live in Scotland. Soft water up there?
Could mean you have a calcium deficiency too.
Personally, I would go with root tabs. API are OK, Tropica would be best IMO.

i used sera for my vals and they worked wonders.
