I'm planning on getting some grass like plants for my 20 gallon, to be in the foreground. But i'm having trouble finding any. I know of micro sword and dwarf hairgrass, but if there are any more options that someone could suggest that be great. I have T8 Daylight full-spectrum lights, fertilizer in the sand, and i fertilize with liquids once a week, no co2 but i use seachem flourish excel everyday. Plants are green cabomba, wisteria, red tiger lotus, amazon swords, baby tears, moss ball, and java fern. Thanks :good:

riccia?... its kinda grass like? besides the ones youv named i cant think of any...

Pogostemon helferi is kinda grass like?

what kinda look are you going for?... a true grassy look youd be best with dwarf hairgrass

pygmy chain swords (E tennelus, not sure if spelled that right) would probably work if the plants you listed are doing well

I was just looking for grassy like plants, so yeah. Wasn't going for the carpet look, just want to make a little patch of "reeds"if you will. Would a combo of micro sword and hairgrass be too much? What are their requirments?

hairgrass is medium light its not to hard to grow imo... (its managing to survive in a pond with me, but im having trouble with it in my big tank)

there both invasive plants... so you will have to keep up with trimming...

they will both benefit from co2 and ferts (but then so will any plants)

try a combo ? if it doesn't work im sure you will be able to sell them on here

Thanks for the info! I'll try and see what my LFS has for me.. :good:

These look nice as well, and all my plants are doing awesome...except my blasted amazon swords  They won't grow and one leaf dies like every week

haha yeah i feel your pain i cannot get swords to grow either but i probably have the cheapest set up there is so i didnt really expect them to lol.

Dwarf sag? Or lilaeopsis? Don't know if glosso would survive or not :/

Edit: Typo - Laptop autocorrect trying to be clever...

I thought dwarf sag was a midground plant...I like the looks of lilaeopsis

It's pretty dependant on lighting in that it grows taller in lower light. Even in high light, you have to "train" it a bit by trimming any taller leaves, which encourages it to stay low and spread out :)
