Looking For A Old Fish I Had 30 Years Ago

30 some years ago i had a " fish" the pet store called a Ecuadorean licorice stick it was black about the size of a pencil and a year after i had it it had babies by her self in the tank .... can some one tell me the real name of this critter and who might have another one ... ps it gulped air at the surface ...

Look up Typhlonectes natans. It's an aquatic caecilian sold under all sorts of stupid names that bear no relationship to reality, like "rubber eel" and "Sicilian worm".

Your so lucky you've had the chance to get some! Ive been looking for a few years now with no trace! Most likely due to export restrictions. Im going crazy as its the last part of my stocking idea for my tank....
