Looking For A Loner Fish

What kind of fish can be kept without other fish of it's own species? I would have to fit into my 10 gallon with 6-8 other (small) fish.
(Freshwater tropical fishmates with a temp of 73 degrees)

I believe a dwarf gourami would be ok.

yeah a DG could work, or a ram, a female siamese fighter would also work
