Just wanted to find out from the people who live around the Hampshire area if there were any good and reliable lfs? I know of a couple very close to me and Ive used Thinkfish shop finder but i thought i would ask just in case.

Cheers

Really sorry..... i didnt and now feel like a complete plum!!!

Thanks nukeonekitty

Hampshire is a big place my friend, I take when you say LFS the L is for local so be a little more specific and I'll let you know if my LFS could be yours too :D

Depending where you live, within Surrey we have the Madenhead Aquatics, there are various along the border, Guildford, Woking, don't know if there is any out in the frontiers of hampshire. Look on their website, sure they do. Woking one is not bad, we generally use the Weybridge one, the staff there have been excellent. "Yes you can buy a tank, but your not buying your fish at the same time, go cycle, read up and comeback next month!", well similar to that, Santas bringing you a good book about tank and fish management....

They seem like telling the truth when asked questions rather than just trying to sell you whatever.

Also in woking have Petsmart, Girl there couldn't tell us name or details about fish not labelled. Few dead floating around. Might only be this branch, but we were not impressed.

Don't be sorry muzzy, that's why people are here... to help!

Hi there,

If it's not too far, there is a Maidenhead Aquatics on the A30, near Ascot, Berks. Tel: 01344 875031 (Karl is especially helpful). They ask lots of questions, dish out tonnes of advice and the manager is more than qualified.

I live near a place called Andover so it quite central for a few places. Also close to the A303, A34 and M3.

Ok..... maybe then a list of places i can think of that's pretty close to where i live.

Basingstoke
Farnborough
Southampton
Portsmouth
Bournemouth

Thanks Stackem evs and natking, ascot and guildford i think should be ok. How long would i be able to transport fish, im a little worried about leaving them in the plastic bags for a long time.

There's also a M'hd Aquatics in Bracknell, good amount of tanks for sale. Ascot has a large array of fish - marine, cold and tropical.

I live in a little village called Fair Oak which is between Winchester and Botley. I have 3 good LFS within 3 mile radius (lucky me) and belive it or not, one is great for info and tanks but is pricey, another is great for fish and info and filtered water and good price and the last is just an interesting place to be in....more like a club meeting place especially on Sundays. My favourite is the first one and is called Aquajadin. The second is Maidenhead aquatics (I think) and the last is something like Claws and Fins.
