The filter came with the tank, which was labled as a marina goldfish starter kit, too small for goldfish IMO but perfect for a betta. The filter is an internal sponge filter, it also has a flow control knob, very nice little filter, and batista loves it!!!

The filter is an Elite Mini, great flowrate, cheap and adjustable, although the media isn't that volumous.
