Ok. First i have to confess something...
As some of you know, i have a large planted tank which iv been having many problems with, through which alot of my plants died anyways.
I ended up with 50ish cardinal tetras swimming around a rather plain tank. within three weeks i was left with 6. I put it down to my filter packing in overnight, although i replaced it rather quickly and used all existing media they all went belly up. I didnt however have ANY problems with my water. So looking at my remaining 6 cardinal tetras, i see a VERY large insect which was perched on a piece of bogwood Lundge at one of my tetras, killing it almost instantly and then quickly devoured it. On examination, i found them to be dragonfly nymphs, very LARGE dragonfly nymphs. i managed to catch a total of 8 of these nymphs, and found a badass adult dragonfly in the hood of my aquarium, like nothing if ever seen before. It was bordering 3" in body length and was bright bright blue with yellow bands and was about as thick as my middle finger.
After pulling the tank appart, i was torn between the decision to start it up planted as it was, OR go for something abit bigger...
That day, i was offered a pair of Chuco godmani. An adult breeding pair of them. Iv seen these fish once before, never a pair, and never adult. even better, i was offered them for nothing. What a lovely lovely person... *THANKS ALAN!*
So, without further to do....
My breeding pair of Chuco Godmani...

Theres my male anyways. More pics soon...

Stunning. Shame about the planted tank and those nymphs, but good job on these cichlids.

Iv seperated both fish this morning as they get a wee bit temperemental (sorry about that spelling) after transport. The male hasnt been fighting with her, just constantly chasing her and she seemed a little tired.
Despite that, as soon as iv seperated them, the female began frntically to try and reach the male through the perspex devider. Poor lady.
Anyway, i suppose its time for a photo update.
Heres a picture of the male and female. Shes camera shy unfortunatly.

Female. Shes got a few scales missing and a split dorsal from the journey home.
Im suprised they settled in so well to be honest considering the journey.

Travelling 70mph on a motorway and being thrown into the fast lane because THIS happens to you isnt the best thing you need when taking your fish home from a 2 hour journey. To make it worse, it took hours and hours and hours for the RAC to come out and help us out and it was damn cold. Poor chilled cichlids.
oh well, their all happy now.
