Hi guys,

Wow, it really has been a long time since I've been on here, apologies, just had a tough year, but its on the up now :)

Well I've got a few questions if you guys wouldn't mind helping me out, again..

I'm looking at getting another tank in my room, at the moment I've got a Jewel Rekord 600 (63L) which has been set up pretty much since I joined this site all of ages ago :)

Its going really well, its just my BN pleco in there and 12 guppies, and about 30+ guppy fry, well I say fry, they are near on half grown now :D

But anywho, I would quite like a reccomendation for a 100l 'ish' tank to go beside my desk, not on, beside, preferably not Jewel, any recommendations?

Next, I would quite like a planted tank, not heavily but nice stocked out with plants, what sort of plants would you recommend, also It'd be preferable if they are avaialble from most LFS's?

And then as the idea of a fish tank goes, I'd like some fish, but not sure, and have no idea what yet, and suggestions will be seriously considered at this point in time..

Many thanks, hope your all doing well :)

Declan.

Oh and a budget of about £800 give or take a few hundred :)

Blimey that's a lot of fish!

Eheim Aquastar 80

Is this planted tank going to be the 100litre tank?

Plants include:

Amazon Swords
Anubias
Java fern
Java moss
Crypts
Aponogetons
Hygrophila
Ludwigia
Bacopa
Tropical Hornwort

All of these plants will grow in a tank with one T8 light bulb spanning the entire length of the tank.
More light tubes aren't a problem, however more light increases the demand for CO2 and nutrients. You'd have to think about injecting CO2 or dosing liquid carbon as well as supplying an all in one fert such as Tropica Plant Nutrition+. You might want to dose both of these anyway though even with just the one T8 light tube, in order to really get the best out of your plants. It's up to you, it's not a necessity though.

Yeah, your telling me its a lot of fish!

The plan at the moment is, keep the adults I have, get a bigger tank, put the filter I have in there at the moment, with another filter, let the new filter cycle, and then remove the old one. (How does that sound? My only concern is that 2 filters will then be doing the job of one, so when I take one away, it will effectively un-cycle it?)

In regards to the babies, I would like to keep a few, as its my first ever batch of fry, and I have friends who want some, who all have tanks set up already, and any others, offer on here or re home at my LFS..

But thanks for the plants and advice, all much appreciated.

Cheers.
