Hi, i recently posted about my Krib giving birth unexpectedly. Anyway, after all i managed to get the tiger barbs out and there was 10 surviving young. Now tho 2 of the youngsters have split off from their parents an the rest of the young. They are just sitting at the top of the heater and staying at the top of the water. They seem fine though and are eating. Has anyone ever seen this and know whether they have been rejected or just lost... thx

kribs lay eggs

Whats ur point. The eggs then turn to fry, which i now have 10 an 2 of which have gone on alone. Can anyone help as to why they are doing this?

I have just been looking closely, these fish look different to the Krib fry. I had 3 platty in there but I thought they were all the same sex. It is either one of them had babies because there is only neons besides. Very strange.

There's a very good chance they'll be eaten if they are alone. If you want them to survive (and have room for them) you could buy a breeder net and keep them there until they are big enough. I wouldn't of thought platty fry would follow kribs constantly so I'd have to think they are krib fry.
