Hi
I got 2 guppies a few weeks ago. They super-bonded and had a 5g all to themselves. Active, intact fins and bodies.

I woke up 2 days ago and one was upside down on the bottom. What could cause that?

Could be lots of things. Might just be bad genetics, maybe parasites. I've found that sometimes really fancy guppies just up and die, even in healthy tanks; I think a lot of them are severely inbred. How are your water conditions? Any possibility of an ammonia spike or a problem with your heater?

I don't use a heater. It's summer in Dallas.

No ammonia spike. I had them for about 3wks 1mo. It was just those 2 in the 5g.

I can take water reading tomorrow, but I don't suspect any issues. I've actually a reason to believe foul play.
I moved 3 tanks today, Serious sleep needed.

???

Probably no way to know what really happened. Sorry for your loss, and I hope you got some good rest last night.
I have a nasty neighbor.
I've had snails disappear, too.
Long story but I've moved my tanks now.
Thanks for your kind words.
