Can I ask what wattage you are using? I would mind planting my 5.5G betta tank, but am not sure what wattage is good for a tank that small.

The 2.5g has a 13W CF fixture and the 8g has a 24W CF fixture. Both tanks are treated as low-tech tanks (limited ferts, no CO2 injection). If you're curious to know how much light you may need, try the link below. It has a calculator in the bottom that will give you the various watts you need to attain various levels of light. It eres on the conservative side. You just enter your tank dimensions. It doesn't take height into consideration unless you tank is taller than 24".
