First post... very nice site BTW

I have a new 55gal planted. I've giving it a few days while the plants adjust and now working on the stocking list.

Here are some questions... Can I do Swordtails and Endlers together? Thinking 6 swords and 8-10 endlers to start.

this isnt a breeding tank per say, but i'd be happy if a few fry survived. the plants and hardscape offer many hiding places. i'm also considering 5-6 corries, 2-3 sae, 6-8 sparkling gouramis, and perhaps some small 3-4 killis. 1 bolivian ram as centerpiece fish?

i guess i'm asking, are any of these fish fry friendly? after the drop, do livebearer fry tend to go to the bottom or top of the tank to hide out.

thanks monte

i think you've a chance all those fish could eat fry, but if you just leave it totally up to nature you could get the odd one survive. fry will go wherever they feel safest, if you can get a big clump of a floating plant like riccia then they'll hide out in there.

sure swordies and endlers would be OK so long as you don't get the endlers too small, as they could then eat them :/

do you think they'd (they meaning any of the listed fish) actively hunt down the fry?

probably not. but most fish will see fry as a tasy snack so if they spot them they'd be in trouble.
