What smallish common livebearers do people recommend, i have guppies and love them but id like an alternative lol and im interested in mb breeding jor just my pleasure.
I know people will ask for tank size so i have a 64L and a 70L, i know roughly of endlers livebearers but was just wondering.

platys? or swordtails?

mollies get a little big i believe!

my favourite by far are endlers, theyre lovely!

Mollies need water that is high in mineral content. My fresh hard water with a pH of around 7.8 suits them fine. A small tank like 71 litres might be a bit small for them. You could try the endlers that you already mentioned or some of the smaller goodeids like Xenotoca eiseni or even the smaller Limias. One of my favorite small tank fish is my Heterandria formosa, see picture below.

swordtails! they rock!

ok thanx people im off to lfs today so ill have a look.

Platies might be nice in there, swordtails, especially the males can get pretty big, I have a group of three in my sons tank, which is 140ltrs & I am thinking of moving them into a larger tank, they do love to dart around & with the length of them including the sword, can easily reach 4in.

I think the Heterandria formosa would look lovely in one of the tanks, I have a small group of these now & I am totally smitten, I seem to have a new baby every other day, very cute :good: But difficult to find in lfs.

a tank of endlers would look fab too.

The 64L tank is planted and looks awesome, i have white clouds and emerald eye rasboras in and im thinking about getting some endlers for that tank cos the other has a small gap in the lid (for the filter to sit in) so they could jump out.
Im just thinking about fish for the other tank.
