i have two mollies and three guppies, everytime i give them tropical fish flakes the fish eat them then spit them out. this concerns me because now i think they don't eat. i do see them darting towards the food, should i be concern or is this typical behavior.

when i started off with bettas they did it too but that was because he didn't like the food, is that the possible?

It could be that they don't like it I suppose but I've never found a food that my fish wouldn't eat. How old is the food? Food becomes less palatable with age. How large are the flakes that you are feeding? Often if the flakes are too large, the fish will grab them and then spit them out continuously until they've broken the flake down into a more manageable size. If the flakes are large, try breaking them up a bit before you feed and see if they start eating better.

fussy fish hay. i have allways used tetra min i tried them on aqaurian flake and my lot wouldnt touch it. my molies (and fry) love the hikari micro pellet 1-2 times a week but its not cheap
