Livebearer Or Not?

i have had these since i started my main tank
brought on impulse and i know thats not good practice but i now know they are a great community fish
their redlined scissor barbs from what i can remember(feel free to correct me if wrong)
looked on so many sites to learn about them but the main thing that is not known is whether they are livebearers or not since no-one has managed to breed in captivity.
unless the sites aint been updated
someone must know the answer to this question and any more info would be appreciated cause it might be something i dont know yet
like how to sex them? etc.......
