Just bought this the other day, setting it up for use slowly! Thought i'd share some pictures. It cost me 7.50 pounds.

Here's a picture to show you, to the bottom right and left of the dividing glass it's got small gaps too.

I am using a horrible plastic breeding trap at the moment so my fishies will be pleased with the new environment.

Is the "V" sealed into the tank or can it be removed.
They are not new device and that design has been around for eons, In fact I used to bulid them back in the early eighties and sold them on the Yorkshire show circuit.(Y.A.A.S). I built the sideways on and also from the top like conventional breeders which you can remove the trap part and have the whole tank for rearing.
I charged around £5 then so you've done well for £7.50
Excellent devices and miles better than their commercially sold plastic stress inducing counterparts.
Nice to see the design surface again

The "V" can be removed yes.
I went into pets at home to grab some bloodworm afterwards, and had a quick glance at their tanks. They started from twenty quid for the same size and they were plastic. I actually found out about Brian on this site, so I'm more than happy with the outcome.

Is that safe to put a small power filter in there? Just mesh over the opening? I could do with 4 of these if that can be done.... And 2 2fts lol

Yeah if that's what you'd want to do. The guy who built this had an order of 6 that were never collected, so he is still trying to sell them. Don't know where you live though!

One question though: What causes the babies to move through the gap, their own volition?

If you had a small external filter that sucked water from the other side of the V and fed it back into the V. That would set up a current to help them along.

But maybe you've already thought of that...

Well in the V compartment the female will be placed in, it'll be bare bones and in the larger compartment outside of the V there will be a lot of plants. Fry will instinctively go towards these as soon as they are dropped. Genius

THREAD DIGGING ALERT!

Hey Guys.

Does anybody know where I can get tanks of a simliar size for maybe, under a tenner?

Not to bothered about the inter-section, just need around 10-20 of these, if the price is good Think I found a similar size tank, selling at around £12..which in my opinion is a little steep.

I'm on a misionto find bargains for my fish house.
