Live Plants

I think it's time i went down the live plants road.
I've managed to make my fluval 90 look as good as it can with fake plants!

After checking out peoples tanks on this forum with there live plants i'm like wow...
Now it's time i changed them !!

Here's the thing though, i've never had them before.
I'm not sure how hard they are to look after, what i need to keep them alive & what to do at all really?

The tank is a fluval 90 with the stock listing;
6 Panda Cory, 7 Danio, 3 Platy, 5 Cardinal, 1 German Blue Ram, 1 Longfin Microgeophagus Ramirezi

However, there's a small plec (marble plec) & rainbow shark in there at the moment too (I know a little overstocked?)
They're only small and will be getting moved to a different tank once they grow a little bit more otherwise they'd end up as food.

The tank currently has gravel (small stones) and a fair bit of slate.
Tank stats; pH 6.8, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, NitrAte 40.

What kind of plants would you recommend for the tank?
& what a prices like?

Have you read the Planted Aquarium Resource Centre? It's where i started from, great foundation.

If you're new to it, like me, go for easy to grow plants like anubias, java fern, mosses.

I'm really enjoying my planted tank. I find myself more interested in the plants than the fish!

Also, if you spend your time trying to keep your plants healthy, your fish will thrive due to the top notch water quality. It's win win!
