Live Moss Balls! Good Or Not?

I've got one and it's been very easy to care for. They don't need high light as they grow naturally in places with low light but with fertilizers and higher lighting can grow much more quickly. I can't say I've ever heard of anyone having problems with them, many people keep them in vases on windowsills with no trouble.

If it's the real deal, then it is supposed to be great for an aquarium. I'm going to try them in a planted tank as well and so far what I've read has been good.

really easy to care for IMO,
i bought 3 from a ebay seller, added them to my tankm and left them, now they have grown and developed a oval shape, possabily because im not rolling them enough.
they are tropical plants i belive, so wont do well in outdoor pools.
dont do much for keeping algea down i find, sill have a bit on the glass, but worth the money for looks.
my shrimps like climbing on them too.

Sounds similar to my tank! I've got a couple in my tank from the lfs, and they look great. Also don't probably roll them enough, so they were starting to become oval shaped, but definitely becoming back to their original ball shape after just a few weeks of rolling.

I put mine in a corner of the tank which occasionally catches strong sunlight, and the hair algae i was getting there before has now vanished, may just be from the erst of the plants in the tank also growing, but I think it helps reduce it.

My shrimps also love it, climbing all over them, almost looks like they're pruning them sometimes! My cory's also like sheltering and gathering round them sometimes.

I'd say well worth the purchase, looks great and inhabitants love them!

Hi scoobyandy,

My tanks don't have too much light, so my mossballs don't really thrive, but I have three that have lived for a good year and a half now. I am so happy with them that when I saw some for sale locally I bought them. I hope they do as well as my others.

These are Great, Got about 15 of them spread thru my tanks.
They look really nice and if cut in half spread out like a carpet.

I Used Mosymo as he does free P+P on his Marimo Balls.
