hey everyone!

am looking to get some live food for my fish they already love blood worm but i remember back in the days of keeping sea monkeys are they brine shrimp?

if so could i grow these again and feed them to my fish safely?

i think they come in three packets...water purifier ...eggs and food.

but if i could maybe cultivate my own save alot of trips to the LFS!

i also heard that alot of the live food can carry diseases from LFS

be grateful on anyones input!

Thanks

yes,

newly hatched brine shrimp are actually the food of choice for fry.

just rinse the salt water off of them first.

You will need a BBS net, salt, air pump, BBS eggs, food. You will be able to make as many as you want.

You know I have a spare tank and i think i may just start doing this..... I mean with sea monkeys your not supposed to change the water so it cant really be that hard can it??
My LFS sell the eggs so i may start doing this....

You can get a brine-shrimp hatch kit from the LFS - may be cheaper than sea-monkeys which is just branded anyway... it's simple enough - the one i saw hatches them in an upside down 2L pop bottle that has a bubbler base. like the previous post said - get a brine-shrimp net (fine white mesh)- they're too fine for the usually nets
