little neons vrs. AFD

Today, I had to return my pleco..... he was my favorite fish ever he had outgrown my tank, and it was only fair to take him back. (also returned 2 male fry)

I was given five dollars store credit, so I looked around, and decided the neons would add some more color to my tank. Tried to buy three small ones. Cute fish smartie told me they do best in larger groups. (he didn't know the tankmates or size so don't blame him) he sold me as many as I had credit for..10 I am sucha sucker haha.

So I get home, and get them all cozy in their new home, and try to count them again. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9... only 9. And a big fat belly on my AFD!!! Also, my Zebra Danios were nipping at them like crazy

So will this last? Will it be fine as soon as they get a littler bigger? Maybe I could house a few of them with my bettas for now? I know I'll have to return some when they get bigger...but the fish smartie was cute.... )

Sorry to hear about you having to give back your plec....Perhaps you could visit him at the LFS until he finds a new home

As for the tetras....I think they would be OK with the betta....they would be able to swim faster and get away from a betta...

If you have to leave them in their current tank, make sure there are a lot of hiding spots so they can escape if they are being chased by something bigger.....when they grow they should be less vulnerable!

Is my AFD the real culprit? or the Danios?

maybe my frog could stay with a betta, that would be easier to catch
