If they aren't fed often enough or are kept in a small tank they will attack one another

what about a shoal of 5 zebra danios?

I'm not sure about the rasboras being calmer in larger groups. I think I've read that they will nip less in larger groups. They also wouldn't let the other fish eat any of the food. They got quite big however.

I don't know anything about zebra danios but my mother bought a few leopard danios. They nipped too, her guppies and one of the danios ended up with no tail left. Again I think it may have been a matter of having too few.
