cold i keep these fish in a 30:
2-4 angels
2-4 silver dollars
2 gouranmias
2 discus
10-20 tetras *shrugs* :dunno:

i have a angel in my 25g tank but he is small now about 3in inhiegth but i plan to move him to a 70g tank and the discuc will also be to big and i dont know about the other but i agree with sea monster

NO, 2 Angels and 2 Silver Dollars with 10 small tetras yes. But Discus NO, in a tank that small with Angels will not work and silver Dollars will upset the Discus bevause of their continous movments.

I wouldn't suggest the silver dollars. They need to stay in large groups otherwise they get really scared and stress out. And they also make plant-keeping impossible!

The tetras'd be nice, and you could get 2-3 different types, too. I'd suggest neons, cardinals, and such. I wouldn't suggest black skirts if you want a lot of activity, though. Mine pretty much stay in one spot.

Four full grown Angels would not live happily in that size tank even if they were two pairs. I would advise getting a pair of Angels and two Gouramis but not Kissing Gouramis as they develop as taste for the Angels slime coating. I wouldn't advise the Discus instead of the Tetras unless the Gouramis go. You must also remeber Discus are very expensive and need very good care management with twice weekly water changes and a high temp which most other fish do not tolerate, they also need to be in charge of the tank and kept with docile companions or they will become stressed. And no way twenty Tetras unless they are Neons with only two Discus or Angels which would most likely eat them. Ten Tetras at most.

Pick either tetras and gourami or tetras and 2 angelfish. Not both. And get a small tetra like a neon, a bigger tetra would make your tank overstocked.

Everyone tells me not to keep angels in a twenty six that's friggin longer then a 29 but for you they say it's okay? I dont get it. It's also the same hight as a 29.

Hi st.cichlid :)

I hate to have to tell you this, but angels and gouramis do not mix. The angels chase and nip at the gouramis.

How about a nice pair of gouramis for the top, some tetras, platties, and/or guppies for the middle and some cory cats and/or kuhli loaches for the bottom of the tank. This would give you a variety of shapes and colors, too, which would make it a very attractive aquarium. :D

Yes I would have to agree, on occasions the fish have been kept together and alot of people believe it is possible but in my opinion and experience things can and do go wrong. I would advise you keep one or the other and Inchworms suggestions sound pretty good why not go with them.

Good Luck :)

Don't even think about the discus!!! Wow man! You need to do a little research....lucky you are here!

so could i keep:
2 angels
2 discus
6 swords
10 neons
TAKE out the Discus and your fine, the Swrodtails and Neons won't live long in the high temps that the Discus need and a tnak that size isn't big enough for 2 Angels and 2 Discus, NO WAY.

2 Angels
10 Neons
6 Swordtails

WARNING- The Angels are likely to eat the Neons, my pair have eaten Neons before and small Rummy Nosed Tetras.

No angels or discus in a tank less than 18" deep and 24" is prefferable, the height of the tank is more important than the length with these tall bodied fish. Angels are predators so will eat neons and other small fish.
