Is limestone ok for in a cichlid tank? If so, is there a possibilty that it will make my PH way to high?

How high can ph levels get?

I'm pretty sure limestone will raise the pH but with Cichlids it's actually a good thing most of the time. African cichlids prefer a pH in the 8+ range where limestone should put it at.

My concern is that I plan on using a fair bit of limestone, will this make my PH to high? How high can PH get with limestone?

I don't know how much limestone will raise your pH or how much it takes to significantly raise it either. I don't think it's possible for it to raise the pH over 8.5 which is within the boundaries. Someone who's more experienced with rocks wlll know how much.
