HALOGEN LIGHTING
I just want to know if it is ok to use a halogen light on my 2ft tank. I am thinking of buying a fluro but i already have a rather large halogen lamp that lights the entire tank sufficiently.
Is this type of light bad for the plants and fish???

There a lot of people that use Halogen bulbs. I've not come across that many in a tank your size.
As long as you don't go over the top with them you'll be fine. Just remember they give off lots of heat.

Indeed, as our illustrious leader Davy says a lot of heat is given off around these lamps, in fact they have so much hot air around them they should be called Davy Lamps hehehe :laugh: Is the lamp a QI Linear or a dichroic type lamp, some dichroic type halogens will dissipate the heat through the back reflector of the globe so the projection of heat is not too much a problem.
