HALOGEN LIGHTING
I just want to know if it is ok to use a halogen light on my 2ft tank. I am thinking of buying a fluro but i already have a rather large halogen lamp that lights the entire tank sufficiently.
Is this type of light bad for the plants and fish???

There a lot of people that use Halogen bulbs. I've not come across that many in a tank your size.
As long as you don't go over the top with them you'll be fine. Just remember they give off lots of heat. :)

Indeed, as our illustrious leader Davy says a lot of heat is given off around these lamps, in fact they have so much hot air around them they should be called Davy Lamps :) hehehe  Is the lamp a QI Linear or a dichroic type lamp, some dichroic type halogens will dissipate the heat through the back reflector of the globe so the projection of heat is not too much a problem.
