My tank is in the process of being Cycled - fishless :D

Just getting bits and bobs ready for when its done.

Lighting, what should i use?

Want a clear white/bluey light, not really into reds etc

My tank is slim at 5" as it is in a wall.

hi ive just ordered no 4 from ebay just for the evenings moon light looks good in pic we shall see

Ummm... well, that tank looks pretty deep so you won't have much luck with plants. In that case you can pretty much use any light you want.

Yes i was just planning to use artificial plants anyway. Just wanted some advice on what lighting actually looks the best :D

love the way the tank looks fitted into the wall - bear in mind though with the lack of depth that will only be suitable for small fish or those that don't require much in the way of oxygen dependency (the small surface area means not much water will be absorbed into the water).

Does look great though. Because it is fitted into the wall, are a couple of small lights installed either side an option?

Thanks. Im open to advice. Wwhat fish would you suggest? I am thinkin abouts tetra? Maybe Betta? which other ones?

The Tank is...

47" Wide
32" Height at back and sides. 28" Height at front
5" Depth

I worked it out to be just under 100ltrs of water.

Tetra's (aslong as there small) is pritty much it, maybe a few guppies too. You shouldnt have any bottom feeders or fish that outgrow 2" though :) Betta's are generally a big no no in communities.

Then get 1 male betta :) but id suggest keeping him alone.

Might be a bit of a silly question, but what would happen if i put a male betta in a tank with tetra's and guppies?

Maybe nothing :) or maybe they'll rip his fins to shreds, it a risk for sure and one which most people avoid taking :p but at the end of the day, you keep the fish you want :) it could work or it could not.
