I am just trying to sort out some lighting for my small tank. It is used for shrimp at the moment, and later as a hospital / quarantine tank.
Whatever I use it for though it will have some live plants in it, they don't need to grow like crazy, but do need to be healthy and stay alive!
If I get a pair of cold cathode tubes in white, will the fact that these produce 'visible' light be enough, or do you HAVE to use flourescent tubes?
I can get the cold cathodes for around £8 + the price of a dc adaptor, where as just the lighting controller for the flourescents seems to be retailing at around £20!
Thanks
