Does anyone reccomend an extra lighting unit for the fluval roma 90 as i believe that 0.3 W per litre is quite low and my plants are showing it

You could go more, but keep in mind, if you go over 2WPG, then you will start to need to inject Co2 into the water. You dont want too much light and not enough Co2, this will only lead to improper plant growth due to the plants lack of the ability to perform photosynthesis properly, and it can also lead to other problems. Unhealthy plants = Possible algae growth.

So you could go with more, but not over 2WPG, unless you want to have a Co2 unit.

i would stay under 1.5 WPG of T8s if you dont want to inject CO2

already got a co2 unit :) lol

EDIT: i know i have this going on 2 threads now but whats the real difference between t8 and t5???????

Which are better if any?
with T5 you get more light for ya watt, so they are effectively cheaper

So will most plants do ok with a 2X15W T8 set up and fertalisers
all low light plants.

just taken a few photos and im now uploading them but its taking time lol
