I recently purchased a 2.5 gallon tank, and I want to make it planted. I have been reading about the watt per gallon rule on tanks and such, but that just seems to go downhill when it comes to nano tanks. Anyways, I would like to know if anyone here has a planted tank this size, and what type of light do you recommend for low tech plants? Thanks.

Anyone have any input on this? Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated. :good:

You need a lot more light for a smaller tank. The wpg rule goes out the window. I wish I could find this site that expland way but I lost it. I would use a 20 watt energy saver light.

I would go with about 18w of light, 2 arcpods would do it.

Thankyou both for the replies. I'll look into both and see what I can get my hands on.
