I have two 55 gallon tanks and currently have a small anubias plant in each one, hopping to add more plants later on. My LFS told me the lights I had that came with my tanks were fine, but I took a look at the watts of the lights and it's only 15Watts. There are 2 lights per tank for a total of 30Watts per tank.

This is what my light fixture looks like (18'' bulbs):

Am I correct in assuming this is not enough lighting?
What can I do to improve the lighting for my plants?
Will simply adding different lights with more watts work?
If so how much is recommended?

Depends what plants you want to add on whether you need more lighting?

What kind of plants are good for me current wattage? If I wanted to try like dwarf grass and ferns would I need more? Right now I have 2 Anubias plants, and 1 umbrella, but I would like to have more eventually.

(I'm really new to aquatic plants if you cant tell) :p

What you suggested plus crypts, swords and mosses. Check out.the plant species index in parc. It's all a constant learning curve mate :).
